Welcome to Willmott Park Primary School website. Choosing a school for your child is a very important decision as the association between the school and your family will span many years. Our highly professional staff at this school strives to make sure that your relationship with the school is a happy and productive one and brings positive outcomes for your child. Willmott Park is a dynamic school community that provides a comprehensive curriculum and supportive pastoral care for all students. The school enrolment in 2015 is over 700. Students are challenged and supported both academically and socially with consideration given to individual needs. Students are also given the opportunity to be involved in their own education through curriculum design, leadership opportunities and student-led conferences. Best practice is engaged through all facets of school life at Willmott Park using Quality Principles and Tools that are applied in the classroom and across whole school activities and events. Staff at this school undertake ‘Quality’ training to implement these principles. You are invited to contact the school and obtain an information pack and enrolment details. Contained in the pack are an outline of the school’s mission statement and our very carefully chosen values: · Respect · Acceptance · Freedom · Happiness · Honesty · Responsibility Students are expected to live these values at school and we hope students take these values with them through life. The values form an intrinsic part of every day interactions at school. At the commencement of each a year every class embarks on a ‘Quality Beginning’ program where these values are practiced. School enrolments reflect a changing demographic of family background and culture that has brought a rich and positive perspective for the community. Demand for places for childcare before & after school is catered in a well-equipped facility with easy access by parents. The staff profile has been adjusted with enrolments, presently there are 38 teachers & 11 educational support staff. Staff professional learning is a priority to ensure that our teachers are highly skilled to prepare students for a changing and challenging world. The school strives to provide the best learning opportunities for all students. Physical Education, Science, and Visual Arts, Music (including violin and choir), ESL is offered and an onsite a Deaf Facility caters for hearing impaired students that are integrated into classes and supported by facility staff. To complement this, Auslan is offered as LOTE. Technology has provided great opportunities including integration of ICT bringing technology into daily learning. A netbook program is being introduced this year. A variety of programs operate to support student learning with language support and extension. Thank you for visiting the Willmott Park website.
