Parent and Friends Association
The Parents and Friends Association (PFA)is a group of parents committed to involving the whole school community in the continual advancement of the quality of the children's education.
They aim to support staff and pupils in the day to day activities of the school as well as fundraising for the school. Funds currently being raised by the PFA are going towards the new Music and Technology Room.
The PFA has representation on the School Council.
Their ability to be successful is directly related to the amount of support this body receives from the parent community.
Meeting dates and times will be outlined in the school newsletter.
All parents are welcome. Be part of your child's education. The Parents and Friends Association needs your involvement. A membership fee of $1.00 per year gives you voting rights at the scheduled meetings.

PFA Current Fundraising Programs
Each year Willmott Park Primary School has a hardworking committee of Parents and Volunteers who organize fundraising events for the school, as well as making sure our students aren’t forgotten by holding the regular fundraisers for which gives a highlight to school life for our children.
Regular Fundraisers
Grade BBQ’s
A barbecue lunch is organized for each grade at a time that is convenient for them throughout the year. Each student is given the opportunity to place a lunchtime order from the BBQ at a minimal price, however it is not compulsory that they participate. Our committee is very aware that we have many different nationalities and cultures within our school, therefore the BBQ menu is prepared accordingly. On the assigned day of their BBQ, the students do not have to bring their own lunch as it is prepared on school premises under the close supervision of our Canteen Manager.
Mother’s Day & Father’s Day Stalls
These days are organized especially for the children so that they can attend the stalls and buy a present of their choice for Mum or Dad to show them how much they are appreciated at that time of year. Time is spent by our committee choosing gifts that represent quality, value for money, and we generally try to cater for a wide range of interests or likes as well.
Footy Day
Again, this is a huge event that the whole school is involved in. The kids especially love Footy Day as not only do they get to dress in their favourite teams colours, but they also get spoiled with some traditional ‘Footy’ food for their lunch such as pies, sausage rolls, donuts and soft drink.
Christmas Raffle
We always approach local businesses or individuals for this function with relation to donations for our prize pool. Our requests are usually well received, and we always appreciate the support shown from small businesses, individuals and large organizations alike. Tickets are sold through the families associated with the school, and we usually have quite a good response with our sale of tickets as well.
Other Programs
Our committee members also make small contributions of time or effort to other programs and events within the school. These programs include Hands on Learning, Grade 6 Graduation, HPV (Human Powered Vehicle). This could be something as little as organizing an afternoon or morning tea, selling tickets to Parents and Families of Grade 6 students.
PFA Committee Xmas Function
As a special thank you to all committee members and volunteers who help throughout the year, an annual Christmas function or dinner is organized. This is usually held in the first week of December, and is an ‘invitation only’ event so if you would like to be included and recognized for efforts made, then you need to make sure that you help us throughout the year in some way. This could be either helping at an event, or simply helping us by doing photocopying or distribution forms to classes.
Other Fundraisers
During 2009 the following items are an example of the type of other irregular fundraisers that our committee organized.
Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Boxes
These were ordered straight from the wholesaler and $5 from each box ordered was then donated to the school. These were 4-6 different boxes available and they ranged in value, were fresher, cheaper and better quality than was found in the supermarkets.
Trolleybux Shopping Trolley Tokens
This was a fundraiser for the round tokens that are used in place of a gold coin for shopping trolleys. Our committee found that this fundraiser was very easy to run and we sold out of the tokens quite quickly.
