Grades Five/Six

JUNIOR SCHOOL COUNCIL

The JSC stands for Junior School Council, and is an excellent program to participate in. Anybody who wants to be a part of it has to apply. Then we have an election where the grades 3-6 students vote for who they want in their JSC. In the JSC we get to organise fundraisers and help others, and we feel important because we make ideas for the school. We also get to go on special excursions.

Adelaide National

…Championships…

The School aerobics nationals was an unforgettable experience, our team is the first in the school to make our way to nationals. Coming second was just a BONUS!

When we were watching the teams we were competing against perform before our turn was frightening they were all so good! As we walked on the stage While Molly (our Mascot) & Sara-Kate was introducing us I became very frightened we would have to impress all 7 judges. Making sure everything is perfect. When Roxanne was calling out who came 2nd as she said ‘You only need one team….’ We knew it was us, because the teams we had versed hade more then one team. I was ecstatic for our team, and what we have accomplished, I was thrilled! We were all in tears. Tears of joy. We thought it was a bit unfair though as the only team we lost to was an actual dance school not a primary school, yet coming second in all of Australia is a massive accomplishment.

Thankyou,

♥Jessica♥

Adelaide National Championships!

Flying to Adelaide was absolute frivolity. I loved it! Coming first in Camberwell, I didn’t expect this to happen. The highlight of the event was definitely the competitions. At first watching the other teams was a bit nerve racking but going out on the stage was really intense. With all the judges staring at you it’s pretty hard trying to impress all 7! The hostess Roxanne absolutely loved our hair and had to prove to the judges it wasn’t fake. Our whole team was a bit worried about our competition because we were up against the best of the best even actual dance schools, with themes that had great expression and had great theatrical moves. We were worried.  When our team was announced 2nd in all of Australia we were so elated! Many of the parents, teachers even our team were in tears of joy to had made such an achievement.

Adelaide National Championships

This was a great experience for us. We are the first team in the school to go to the national championships. When Roxanne, the host, called out that to get second it only took one team we knew it was us. The thrill was amazing, we were so happy. Everybody said we still came first because the team that came first was an actual dance school and we were just an ordinary primary school. When we heard that we had come second we all jumped up in excitement and cried with tears of joy. I’m so happy for the team!
